Calling all young paleontologists! Get ready for an exciting in-person adventure at our “Jurassic Park Summer Camp: All About Dinos!” This camp is perfect for students aged 6-12 who have a fascination with dinosaurs and are eager to learn more. Over two action-packed sessions, we’ll journey through the prehistoric world, uncovering the secrets of both familiar favorites and some truly unique dinosaur species.

Our enthusiastic and knowledgeable instructor, a certified teacher with a lifelong passion for dinosaurs and advanced degrees, will guide students through the fascinating characteristics of these ancient creatures, what they ate, and the different eras they inhabited. This isn’t an advanced course, but rather a fantastic opportunity for dino enthusiasts to connect, share their excitement, and expand their knowledge.

The first session will kick off with introductions and a chance for everyone to share their favorite dinosaurs. We’ll delve into the three main periods of the dinosaur age and explore a captivating array of well-known and some more obscure species. To spark curiosity and encourage independent learning, students will each select a dinosaur (from a provided list) that we didn’t cover in class to research for a fun, creative project to present in the final session. We encourage hands-on approaches and will provide a guide to help them structure their findings in an engaging fact-based format.

Between sessions, students will embark on an exciting dinosaur-themed scavenger hunt, both indoors and outdoors! They can collect items or take pictures to share their discoveries in the next class.

The second session will begin with students showcasing their dinosaur research projects and sharing their fascinating findings with the group. We’ll also explore the incredible dinosaur bones that have been unearthed and see how paleontologists piece together these ancient giants. The session will wrap up with lively discussions, fun dinosaur trivia, and engaging video clips.

Our camp fosters a respectful and interactive learning environment where participation is encouraged, and students are taught the importance of raising their hands to share their thoughts. Join us for a roaring good time as we explore the captivating world of dinosaurs!
